From the 101 freeway in Thousand oaks, exit at Lynn Road, go right about a half mile to Gainsborough and turn right. Follow Gainsborough for about another half mile to the entrance to the Conjeo Botanic Garden on the right side of the road. Follow the driveway to the parking area. Walk down the paved path at the bottom of the parking lot to the entrance to the botanic gardens.
This is a wonderful shady nature walk along a pretty little stream. I took my two grandsons (2 and 8 yrs old) and they loved it. Just follow the frequent signs for the nature walk and you can't get lost. There trail is meandering and has a bit of elevation gain here and there.
Highlights along the trail include a wide variety of lush vegetation, butterflies, lizards, rock hopping in the stream, big spectacular oaks, a cool bridge over the stream, and lots more. Note that there is poison oak around, so you should keep an eye on any family members wandering off the trail.
