Trailhead

Take the 15 or 215 North up Cajon Pass, exit on the 138 follow it east for 4 curvy miles, until you reach an unmarked dirt road 2N44. From the other direction, it is marked as Elliot. If you travel more than 4 miles, you have passed it. It should be easy to find. Drive up the hill and park next to the gate marked Private Road, if the forest road is closed.

As of now it is closed to Off-Road Travel.

Follow the road and electrical towers past the PCT, and then make a left to stay on the main road. There are lots of short cuts (steeper) along the way that cut out the curvy switchbacks, follow whichever path suits you.

Description

This is a basic follow the road to the top trip. You pass through recently burned areas that are reminiscent of the moon, or perhaps a forest ravaged by orcs.

It is uphill all the way, but it can be done in an afternoon. I made the trip in 3 hours.

You certainly wont see much wildlife, a few birds, maybe some small mammals, but the views of Baldy, Pine, Dawson, Three T's, and Cajon Pass are outstanding - best done on a clear winter day.
