Description

This is a nice, shaded out and back trail in the lower part of the Angeles Crest Highway. I choose this as an easy weekday hike because it is so close to Pasadena. The first part is fairly steep incline but is completely shaded. After that it is more gradual climb up over the saddle and down into grizzlly flats. I never quite understood the significance of this place, but the cool pine grove was a nice place to stop for lunch. After the flats, the trail gets steeper, finally dropping into the Big Tujunga.
