Description

The hike to Vetter Mountain is short but uphill all the way. A little way up the trail you will notice that the Silver Mocasin Trail comes in from the left. Keep going straight ahead ascending through the pine forest and chaparral. You will pass a paved road twice on the way to the summit. The lookout tower at the top is the highlight of this hike with a 360 degree view of the Front Range of the San Gabriel Mountains and High Country Summits.

The trailhead for the Wolf Tree Nature Trail begins right across from the Vetter Mountain trailhead. This is a self guided loop trail with information plaques scattered about along the way describing the local plant life and also a fire that occurred in 1878. This is a perfect little hike for the kids.
